First Stop of the Spanish Championships in Tarifa: Alvaro first in freestyle!
Posted Wednesday July 18th 2007
Congratulations to Alvaro Onieva, for winning the first stop of the Kiteboard Championship in Spain, which
took place on Valdevaqueros Beach in Tarifa, on Monday, July 9th – 11th
Congratulations also to long-time Best Team Rider 11-year old Patrick Blanc for his second place finish in
the Kid’s Division. Although the conditions were a bit hard, especially for the kids, with strong winds gusting
to 40 knots in the competition area, Patrick managed to pull off a raley to blind, a deadman, a blind to
backroll kiteloop, and a few jumps so high over the beach that he could see all the way to Morocco!
Patrick Blanc
Another Best rider also made the podium - Sami Gali won a crashing victory on the best race kite out there,
the Waroo Pro, leaving everyone ... Joese Luengo, Cesar Portas, Alvaro Onieva ... far behind in his wake.
