Wednesday 15th August

Mike, one of our loyal customers from Delray, got a free trip to Brazil by bringing down the latest Nemesis HP & 2008 Waroo prototypes. Stacey, who desperately wants to be the mule and kite for a few days on the Best Lagoon, was not happy Mike got picked ...

It was like Christmas morning when Mike arrived with the kites. We somehow actually managed to leave the house before 10am to go test everything, which is a minor miracle whenever the company's namesake is involved ...

We were focused on the Nemesis HP today because we had a feeling that the 7m, 10m and 12m could get approved - the next versions of the 9m and 14m will be here in a few days ...

After Peter makes some final bridle tweaks, the testing begins.

I got to test the 10m Nemesis HP first and the wind was cranking and the kite was flawless. It turns FAST and jumps huge. It's super stable and in a word, magic. It just felt perfect, like it was a part of me and I can honestly say, it's the best kite I've ever flown.

We pumped up all the kites and it turned out to be a perfect wind day as the wind would change from nuking to fairly light on and off throughout the day, so we got to test all sizes in all wind conditions. It was like the wind Gods were smiling on Best.

Jeff hurt his back a few days ago, so he was relegaded to being photo and video bitch. Knowing Jeff, one would probably think he hurt himself doing some insane tricky trick, but no - he hurt his back pumping up a kite. Maybe we should re-think the name "EZ-Pump," huh Jeff?

The testing continued throughout the day, and Shannon tested some new proto bindings along with testing how all the kites acted unhooked.

Peter launches the 2008 Waroo 9mon short lines to see how he likes it in the waves with a proto Best 5'7"

How do I say, "I want to have your babies?"

Peter, who rides the Best 5'7" 99.99% of the time, does a quick session with Shannon's board.

Our friend Jerry, who we met down here last year is anxious for us to approve the new kites, as even though his 2006 Waroos still fly great, he packed them in a crate with his dog on the way here to Brazil, and his dog actually ate his kites!

Marco, a die-hard Yarga SLE lover, feels even more in love with the Nemesis HP 7m.

But Veronica wouldn't give the 7m Nemesis HP back to anyone.

We tested the kites all day, and the Nemesis HP 7m, 10m and 12m were simply awesome - even Peter couldn't find a flaw, so we approved them to make some demos for our reps, and after a few more weeks testing them nhard down here, they will get aprroved for production and you lucky kiters will be able to get one by late September or early October - they are going to blow your mind!
