Best Party and Kite Auction '08

The 3rd Annual Best Kiteboarding Brazil Party in Cumbuco lived up to its high standards once again as several hundred people partied at the Hi-Life kite school http://www.kite-surf-brazil.com to the early hours. With a huge mixed crowd of local Brazilians, KPWT crew and a growing expat population, the party had great vibes all night long. Controlled debauchery is maybe a better term for the celebration.

Round one of the bikini competition started the party off with this year's group of girls very keen to display their "skills" to the general public. These girls really knew how to shake it! I am not sure where or how they learnt to shake it like they did but some of the girls really knew their stuff? It was like there was an invisible dancing pole on stage.

After the completion of round one of the bikini competition, Alex led the auction once again in fine style with the help of the notorious Shannon "Give It Away Now" Best. I must admit a lot of people come to the party to buy kites. No, serious! I see the same people each year coming back to buy kites and grab some great deals. I am sure the bunch of hot girls shaking it in bikinis helps but there are some serious repeat bidders in the crowd looking for cheap kites. 40 or more kites, bars, boards were sold this year along with a bunch free stuff thrown from the stage from "Give It Away Now" Best. The flying board bag was all style, Besty!

Number 1

At some point during the auction Alex decided to give away a free kite to any MAN that would come on stage in a bikini and shake it with the girls. Surprisingly we had two takers in the "male bikini section." I am not sure who won or who got the kite but it was a lot laughs as the two studs shook it to the crowd. Everyone went crazy as they let it all hang out!!

Alex and Shannon kept the crowd entertained, as the girls got ready for round two of the bikini competition. The girls were loosening up at the bar (I hope it was just the bar) knowing that the final round of competition was going to be pretty tough. A few drinks for everyone allowed Jamie and the HI_Life School crew to clean up after the auction and get ready for the remainder of the night.

Round started off and the things got out of hand fast. As the girls were called up on stage to shake it and do their turn for the crowd none of them would leave. In a matter of minutes all the girls were fighting for the crowds attention. Camera Flashes were going crazy and well. Alex and Shannon tried to get the girls to stop so they could pick a winner but no one listened. Eventually, Shannon made "his choice," made the announcement and still no one listened. The girls just kept going….

Finally the girls were "removed" from the stage so the band could set up and play. The night rocked. People partied, things happened, friends were made and nobody was injured except for a few bikinis!
