RV SUMMER TOUR 2007: INTERNATIONAL TEAM RIDER MIGUEL WILLIS JOINS THE BUS!
Posted Thursday 17 May 2007

Having successfully completed the 2007 Spring Tour, logging well over 5000 miles from Corpus to Vegas, down the
entire California Coast before returning triumphantly ... complete with battle scars ... to Corpus Christi for a brief
visit to the RV Hospital and a brief stint as a party bus at the Velocity Games, the Best RV will set sail again on its 2007 Summer Tour on Friday May
18th. After making a quick detour to South Padre Island, the Bus ... with a fresh crop of selected Yarga Hybrid, Waroo, and Bularoo demo gear ... will head up around the Gulf through Jacksonville, landing in Hatteras around the 1st of June, for Real Kiteboarding's Triple S Invitational held June
2-8th, where it will remain for the duration of the event.
Joining our illustrious list of drivers, including Buck Ashcraft, Shannon Best, Noel Jambor, Gavin Butler and
Jake Buzianis, is 29 year-old International Team Rider Miguel Willis, ranked 9th Overall in the 2006 KPWT World
Tour, fresh off some recent character-building travels through Yemen. If you haven't seen it yet, right click here (and open in a new window) to watch Miguel's Yemen Diary video
... it's a pretty amazing video and you won't be sorry you did.
Born in Australia, Miguel has spent much of his life growing up in Oman, a small country just east of Saudi
Arabia and south of Iran, flanked by the Arabian Sea. After seeing pictures of kiteboarding in 1999, and winning
the UAE 2003 Dubai Red Bull event, he eventually quit his job teaching English and became a competitive
kiteboarder. Fortunately, he was bitten by the travel bug early, and is no stranger to adventure, which will
serve him well in the upcoming months, as he drives the 40-odd foot RV along the highways and byways of 21st
Century America.
"Yemen's an interesting place," wrote Miguel recently from a hard-to-find internet cafe somewhere in the middle
of Yemen, "Although full of gun-wielding, qat-chewing crazy guys, but so far everyone has been really friendly."
Hmmm, sounds surprisingly like some of Buck Ashcraft's descriptions from the desert.
Welcome to America, Miguel, and welcome aboard the Best RV!
