South Haven is a small town situated a couple hours north on Lake Michigan. This is where I was to hang out for a week and do some demos with the kite shop Sharkless Boardsports. Unfortunately no one had told the wind that we had demos scheduled, and it could only make a late appearance. Chris and Lindy, from Sharkless, and the local kiters took great care of me! After being on the road for quite a while it was nice to take a break. The days quickly established a mellow routine of breakfast down on the dock at Smoothie Haven, hanging out at the shop, going out on their boat, and cruising the beaches on the Lindy's pink moped.
While sitting around at a bbq one night, someone had the great idea of a dawn patrol to catch a short window of wind that was supposed to be coming through. Not being a morning person, the idea seemed a little less great when I woke at 4:30am; however with the aid of coffee I managed make it down. The first tack out was nicely powered, unfortunately from there it all went downhill...
Wallowing in cold water while trying to relaunch my kite on a misty overcast morning, my bed suddenly sounded pretty appealing.

The 4TH of July parade was going through town and we decided to enter the RV.
The streets were lined with stars and stripes as screaming kids were all trying to scramble for sweets and Best swag thrown from the RV. Luckily no children ran under the RV while in pursuit of a wayward sweet, and I even managed to make it around the roundabout which looked pretty tight. Being one of the first vehicles, I envisioned the RV holding up the entire parade as I did a 95 point turn to make it around.

It was my last day in South Haven and the wind, which had so far been absent, decided to turn up. Everyone headed down to the beach for a full day of riding.
It was great to be able to get on the water and ride with the South Haven kite crew who had been so welcoming and hospitable. Thanks Sharkless! you all are awesome!
