RV Adventures #6, April 17 - April 20, Ocean Beach: Not a whole lot going on ... could use a bit more cooperation from the wind

After an adventurous trip to the coast, the past few days have been relatively smooth, with the boys riding Ocean Beach every afternoon when the tide drops.
It's a great spot for the boys to ride on the low tide with onshore winds and loads of flat sand to shoot the video.
Alex and Jim are slowly getting through the video segments and with a little luck, Jim's part will be shot and wrapped up
before he leaves on Thursday.
It's been fun hanging out with our buggy friends from Primm, Elton and Slawek most afternoons.
Yesterday, Thursday, the weather gods weren't really in our favor for the planned demo at Waddell Creek, so we caught up with Jeff from Wind Over Water to a sneak peak at Mavericks that was starting to feather on the bigger sets. Then we cruised on up to Pacifica to check out the shop and wait out the showers that were coming through.
So we moved on again to Crissy Field after getting lost in downtown San Fran on the way. I think we have made every wrong turn in this city ... it's crazy. The first race of the Harbor Race series was due to start for the year under the Golden Gate Bridge, but due to the light to gusty SW winds it was called off, so we moved base back to Ocean Beach to check the conditions.
SW was the wrong direction to ride the landboards, but Alex braved the rain and the cold to ride the surf on the 13m Bularoo. A quick tequila shot and a beer at the Beach Chalet on OB helped us all warm up with some new friends and competitors in the race series. Thanks for the drinks guys!! Much appreciated!! We hope to see you around this weekend!
Apart from all this, we've been based down at the state campground in Half Moon Bay for most nights, avoiding parking tickets and enjoying the cliffs and rugged coast of the Pacific Coast Highway. A good bus clean today has us looking like new (kind of, if you don't count the duct tape) and ready for the next few days of the trip around the Bay Area.
Jim with the new Bularoo, out for a sunset session
The forecast does look kind of sketchy this weekend, but hopefully this front coming doesn't last too long so we can proceed with our demo's at Crissy on Saturday and Sherman on Sunday.
Dom our driver who was going to take over the leg back to Corpus via LA has bailed so Jake will be flying in from Utah on Tuesday to help and head to the Velocity games for the competition. Thanks Jake!!!
We'd also opened up the driver slot to Bucky, but he was busy with his other RV and couldn't make it.
Time to sign off and head to the beach to keep shooting the DVD. More soon when it happens.
Laters…
