What gear do I need?
All you need is a kite, a landboard and a harness. Unlike the water, the ground will not cushion your fall, so if you are riding on hard ground always wear a helmet and consider investing in some elbow and knee pads.
What type of kite do I need?
Any medium size traction kite will do. A Waroo or Bularoo are perfect, they both offer beginners a stable flying platform, excellent safety and huge depower.
Where can I ride?
Any open space will space do. The more free area you have the more enjoyable it will be. A rider can learn to landboard comfortably in an area as small as 100 yards square. To ensure safe working distances always make sure you have a full kite-line length of free space wherever you ride. Always keep clear of solid objects and don’t forget your protection gear.
What type of landboard do I need?
Any landboard will do. They come in a huge range of shapes and sizes from many different manu-facturers. As long as the board supports your weight comfortably you’ll be fine.
Is there a Best landboard?
We are working hard on delivering a cutting edge landboard. It will be totally unique and offer more adjustability and durability than anything on the market.
How long does it take to learn?
If you can fly a kite already you will be up and riding in a matter of minutes. If you can already snowkite or kitesurf then you will be riding in seconds.
What areas are not suitable for landboarding?
Stay away from anywhere near overhead cables and keep clear of buildings at all times. You need to keep a minimum distance away from any hard object at least equal to the length of your kite lines.
