Three days after the Greece event began the KPWT Italy event at Lago di Como. Here I was not so lucky as I'd been in Greece, and was simply not having such a great time. For the first 2 days we were more or less waiting for wind, being able to run 4 heats in the few minutes of suitable conditions we had. On day 3, we ran a course race in light wind which I won but which was canceled afterwards as there were some problems with the starting procedure and some protests about it.
On day 4, we ran the singles and even though I had an alright start, I had 2 not so awesome heats against Ania and Ainoha where my leash got caught around my harness hook a few times (making it impossible for me to unhook) and crashed moves that I normally don't crash. Oh well. I accepted that it was just not my day (and that a 4th place is not that bad after all!). I was a bit relieved that I was still able to win the 2 races we had that same afternoon – securing another first place in course racing.
The fifth and final day of the competition I was hoping to run the doubles and to at least ride a little nicer, but it was pouring down rain all day long with one thunderstorm after the other coming through the valley. So we ran the price giving at 2pm and off I went to the Airport in Mailand where I spent the night in the hotel, leaving for a photoshooting in Tarifa the next moring at 7, and back on the road again to more events, more competitions and new adventures!
