Kitestock 08 - West Oz

Dongara, Port Denison was where it was all happening.

For 3 days (Feb 14th-17th), Port Denison was the home for Kitestock, the largest, non-biased gear test events in the country with most kite distributors showing up to present their gear.

We packed heavy for the long journey to the West coast and had the full range of kites available for the eager kite enthusiasts to try. The Best test centre was based from our hired motor home, surrounded by a colorful collection of kites and a wicked team, the amazingly white beaches and crystal waters stretching for miles, what more can you ask for.

Over the weekend we were lucky enough to have with us Kristin Boese, Clinton Bolton, Peter Stiewe and Cam Prest. Helping out were also Graham from Choice Kitesurfing and Lindsay from Power Play Kiteboarding.

The weekend brought endless wind, fantastic location and awesome people to the event.

The kiting was unreal, a little crazy at times with that many kiters on the water at the same time.

Kristin ran a girls clinic in front of the BEST site and test centre. She answered loads of questions, talked about life on the Pro tour, shared plenty of trick tips and inspired all the girls. Mel offered advice and shared the stats on the different kites and boards and the best set ups for the chicks. The best part was to see all the girls then get out on the water together and rip it having a ball. GO Girl Power!!

As the sun finally went down, we were forced to head to the parties. With the awesome food layed on, plenty of drinks and the wicked band the dance floor came to life and was rockin for the rest of the night.

Thanks so much to all the event organizers who made it happen. To our crew ... thanks for all your hard work and it was fantastic hanging out.
