sick: adjective(slang) Very good, excellent, awesome
So ... I finally made it to the Best Lesson Center in Amityville, NY!!!
I've been commuting from Connecticut with Brian Scall (manager of Retail Operations) almost every day now for a week. This place is really sick, and I'm really happy to be involved with the whole thing. There's still a bit of work to do and every day we get a ton done and it's all coming together very nicely. This is what it looked like at the beginning of May ... just a drawing. |
| But, the other day I got to start setting up the Indoor Training Facility, which is really fun because I pretty much have free reign to do whatever I want. First, we set up a simple hanging bar for practicing danglepasses. Now, everyone at the shop is on it all the time practicing. |
Picture 1: Brian, on the bar, Picture 2: Enzo going for the pass
| Then we went out and got a trampoline and set that up, and rigged it so it could be lifted into the air and hung on the ceiling, up and out of the way. When it's done it's going to be really sick ... everything will be on pulleys and be fully adjustable. |
| Then, yesterday we got to go out and ride the slicks. The lagoon is perfect flat water ... EVERYWHERE! … There's island after island blocking all the chop ... PERFECT RIDING! And it's all about waist deep, and it's PERFECT for lessons! After about a two hour sunset sesh, Brian and I packed up on the new jet ski and headed back to the center. |
| In the next week or so, the lessons should really start to get going. It'll be pretty cool, because on top of all the normal classes, I'll get to teach a pro level class, and I think the training facility is going to work really well for teaching people more advanced moves like handle passes, and also just for helping people get more comfortable being inverted.
