loaning out gear for people to try.
Carol--unhooked 720's, 3 hour surf sessions, only girl out on northlies in SPI,
going big.
Most traumatic experience:Tony – went down in front of 25’ waves in Cabarete
near the end of a race. Lost the kite (snapped the lines) and the board immediately
when the white water hit. Made it out the back door but was then stuck on the outside
of the break over a ½ mile from shore but no one was venturing outside the break
anymore due to how big it was. After 20 minutes of treading water started working
up the courage to go through the break. Finally caught a kiters attention and was
able to get a towthrough the break with only minor pounding in the white water.
Carol - During the start of a course race in Corpus Christi, TX Carol was hit from
behind by another kiter who wrapped his lines around hers, sent both kites into
a loop which caused her to fly up his lines “flagpole” style. Then down and drug
under water for 20 seconds before another trip up the flagpole before finally getting
everything released and stopped on the water. Carol untangled and went on to finish
the race.
