Flat Fields Suck

I hate grass. It's common and flat. I travelled a lot last year and got to test some spots that have never even been walked on, let alone ripped up by us kiteboarding. One of the places I stopped by was in Antigua in the Caribbean. The ground was funky, lots of beach but covered in drift wood and plants.

It was nice though. The temperature was around 40 degrees and you didn't need shoes. I cruised up and down some un-charted islands with Shannon Best who was also on the trip with me.

So maybe you don't have a travel budget, that doesn't mean you can't ride more than grass. I've just started kiting street when back home in the UK. Or you could go into the countryside and ride hills snow kite style. I haven't travelled much of the UK but up in Scotland there is a whole bunch of spots of rolling hills and mountain runs.

There must be so much in the central States, mountains, national parks and things like that. I travelled through some super cool places with Gavin and a rider called Jim, who is on Drill 2, on the RV. Strange rock formations and colours. I also visited White Sands Missile Range, in New Mexico during 2006, which was fun.

So have a look around next time your out. Maybe you could find a new hand rail to jibe or a hill spot for hang time. Explore some new spots or something this year.
