Alex Brown reports from Brazil

Sept 3rd - Sept 30th

Welcome to Brazil! It was the first time I had been down here, and I couldn't wait to try out the new 08 kites. My flight left from London for Fortaleza, via Lisbon, where I encountered huge delays and experienced why cheap airline tickets are cheap. TAP, Tap Air Portugal, the national airline, might as well stand for Try Another Plane.

Delayed in Portugal

The complimentary hotel, however, was badass.

I met up with the Best crew in Brazil the next day. Shannon was there, along with Peter Stiewe, Bill Kraft, and Big Alex.

That week a few more people flew down including Gavin and Alvaro, and then we started work on the new Nemesis HP promo video and product shots.

After the Nemi stuff was wrapped up, I helped out Shannon and Bill on the slider. It's so ghetto. The supports used to be in the water, but as it's so windy every minute of the day over here, the sand fills the lagoon and in no time the slider was sitting dry out of the water.

We held a huge poker tournament one evening to celebrate Katie's birthday (Katie and Mark are Best Dealers down here, and run a posada in Taiba … www.revolutionkiteboarding.com.)

Kara, staying with Katie here in Brazil, got some good cards in her first game of poker ever and took the winnings! NICE!

Now time to get up early and work on the 08 Waroos ...
